Battle Royale
Top qualifier in his U14 division across three patterns, then a podium finish through pod matchplay and the stepladder.
Tournament Overview
The Battle Royale was a two-act event, and Arryn owned the first one. Across three distinct sport patterns in the U14 Boys division, he posted the top qualifying pinfall in the division: 3,150 pins over fifteen games at a 210.0 average, with block placements of 2nd, 1st, and 2nd. He walked out of qualifying as the number-one seed.
Then the format flipped to pod matchplay and a stepladder final, where a long lead can vanish in a single game. Arryn battled through the bracket and finished 3rd overall, a podium close to a weekend he led from the front.
Qualifying: The Block Ladder
Qualifying: Block by Block
Key Highlights
Highest qualifying pinfall in the field, 3,150 pins at a 210.0 average to earn the number-one seed.
A 227.2 average for 1st on the 42-foot pattern, his single best stretch of the weekend.
2nd, 1st, and 2nd across short, medium, and long, never out of the top two in qualifying.
Carried his game into pod matchplay and the stepladder to finish 3rd of 9.
Why This Result Matters
A 210 average over fifteen games on three different sport patterns, capped by a 227 block win, is the kind of qualifying run most bowlers would frame as the result. Arryn led his division through it and still had a bracket to bowl. Matchplay and stepladder formats are a different game entirely, where one cold frame against a hot opponent can end a run no matter how the standings looked an hour earlier.
Finishing 3rd through that pressure, after leading wire to wire in qualifying, is a complete competitive showing: the consistency to pace a field across patterns, and the nerve to keep performing when every shot is a duel. It was one of his strongest weekends of the 2025 season and a preview of the closer he would become.
