Interstate All-Stars

The Youth Interstate All-Stars opened its 2025 series at New Victory Lanes in Mooresville, drawing a 36-deep U15 Boys field from multiple states. The challenge was the lane condition: the 2025 PBA Shark 47-foot pattern, one of the longest and most demanding shots in the sport, the kind that holds scores down across an entire field.

Arryn finished 6th of 36 individually, 1,089 pins over six games at a 181.5 average, and anchored the Virginia U15 Boys Baker team. On a pattern where breaking 200 was hard for everyone, a top-6 placement and a closing 223 told the real story of the weekend.

On a pattern this long, scores swing hard. After grinding through five games in the 140s to 190s, Arryn finished with the only 200-plus game of his block, a 223 to close strong. The dashed line marks 200.

Averages mean different things on different oil. A 181.5 on a house shot is ordinary, but a 181.5 on the PBA Shark 47, a flat, unforgiving pattern that pros respect, is a different achievement entirely. The proof is in the placement: that number was good for 6th in a 36-bowler interstate field, which means the pattern punished nearly everyone.

Add the anchor role in the Baker team event, where his shot has to hold up with teammates counting on it, and this was a weekend about composure on a hard shot. Closing with a 223 when the pattern had been grinding him down all day was the clearest sign of the competitor he was becoming.
