Super Slam Delaware
His second SYC event and first Super Slam: twenty games, four patterns, and a statement bounce-back after his roughest block of the weekend.
Tournament Overview
The Super Slam was the longest test of Arryn's young SYC career to that point: twenty games over four sport-pattern blocks at Bowlerama in New Castle, just his second SYC event ever. In a 36-deep U15 Boys field, he finished 15th, 3,603 pins at a 180.2 average.
The weekend was a study in highs and lows. He posted two top-10 blocks and two rough ones, but the most telling stretch came back to back across two different medium patterns, where he answered his worst block of the weekend with his best.
The Block Ladder

Two Mediums, One Big Response
Two medium patterns · back-to-back blocks Medium 1 159.6 30th of 36 AVG▲ +38.89 SPOTS Medium 2 198.4 9th of 36 Two different medium patterns, back to back. After his worst block of the weekend on the first medium, Arryn answered on the second medium with his best block of the event, a 38.8-pin jump in average and a 194-pin swing in block total, climbing from 30th to 9th. That is the response of a bowler who resets fast and adjusts in real time.
Key Takeaways
From 159.6 and 30th to 198.4 and 9th across back-to-back medium patterns, his defining stretch of the weekend.
Top-10 on both the short pattern and the medium second look, in a 36-deep field.
Twenty games over four patterns, his longest single event of the 2025 season.
Another national-level event early in his SYC journey, banking experience across four conditions.
Why This Result Matters
The final standing, 15th of 36, only tells part of the story. The part that matters most is what happened between the two medium blocks. Plenty of young bowlers let a 159 block snowball into a lost weekend. Arryn did the opposite, regrouping on the next medium and coming back with a 198, a near 40-pin swing in average.
That ability to reset, to treat a bad block as information rather than a verdict, is one of the hardest things to teach and one of the clearest signs of a competitor still climbing. In a 20-game grind early in his SYC career, it was the most valuable thing he carried home.
Acknowledgments
Thank you to Bowlerama in New Castle for hosting the Super Slam, and to everyone who helped Arryn through the long four-block weekend and the patterns in between.
A bad block is information, not a verdict. He proved it.
