Overview

The Bowling.com Youth Open Championships is USBC's big non-qualifying youth event, bowled this year at Lucky Strike Blaine in Blaine, Minnesota — the same town that hosts Junior Gold. It's nine games of scratch bowling: three each in singles, doubles, and four-player team. Arryn ran doubles and singles in the 3 p.m. session and came back for the team block at 7 p.m. The plus/minus figures below are pins over or under a 200 pace across each three-game block — the same baseline every other event on this site uses.

How the Day Went

Doubles

Teamed with Vinny Piccillo to open the day. A touch under their own averages — Arryn +4, Vinny -18 — for an 1,181, which sits 14th of 52 pairs as later squads filled the board.

Singles

The turnaround. Moving farther left on the lane unlocked a much better look, and Arryn poured in a 672 block — a +72 and his best of the day, standing 6th of 101 in the U15 Boys singles field.

Team

Back at 7 p.m. with his four-player team, Fort Meade. Arryn's +66 helped the crew to a 2,538 total in the U18 team division.

How the Board Settled

The Youth Open is a non-qualifying event that runs squads deep into late July, so the boards kept moving as more bowlers posted. The final standings put him 6th of 101 in U15 Boys singles, 14th of 52 in doubles, and 9th of 107 in all-events, with the Fort Meade team 14th of 72 in U18. Arryn's own line is fixed either way: +142 over a 200 pace across all nine games, headlined by that 672 singles block.
